Costs, Clones, and Clip-Only Installers |

Recently a lot of customers are inquiring about solderless installs, and lower cost solutions offered by some installers. We have added a section called "Why ModMonkey" as well. There are a lot of people offering only solderless installs. This is because they require no skill to install, and anyone can do it. We do offer these as well as soldered installs. Also be cautious of extremely low prices. Many installers are putting in clone chips, or a chip that is different from what they are advertising. If you do decide to get your consoles modded, here or elsewhere, do your research first. There is a reason some people have to spam frequently to get business, rather than relying on their reputation and feedback. Many local installers are bringing their tougher installs/repairs to us since they do not have the skills to do the mods for their own customers. Does your chosen installer have unbiased feedback on sites they cannot moderate or modify? We do. |

We now have in stock the D2Sun 1.53 + External switch (and WiiClip if you like) allowing it to be enabled and disabled, which seems to be a very stable chip. The eject error is nearly 100% gone as well. Check the Wii section for details if you are interested! |

Xbox Live Bans, NXE Update Safe |
Wednesday, 12 November 2008 |
Many users are reporting that they are being banned over the last few days from Xbox Live. I would strongly suggest not playing with the network operational while running backups if you would like to be 100% safe, or at least not playing games released prior to release date online. There is always a risk to playing online with modded consoles, so not playing pre-releases can increase your odds of staying safe.
UPDATE: The NXE Update is safe for modded consoles. |
