Wasabi DX Coming, All 360's Moddable |
Saturday, 30 January 2010 |
Please note that ALL 360's are currently moddable. See the 360 section for pricing and firmware versions offered. ModMonkey does not offer JTAG hacks or uncrippling at this point in time.
Also note that next week Wasabi DX will arrive for the Wii. They are the same idea as the DriveKey, but their support has been somewhat more professional, and they have had numerous dvd updates, unlike the DriveKey. Both perform the same currently though, so either is a safe choice. Please be sure to follow the steps in the Wii section to find the modding cost, as I cannot help you via email - you need to figure it out. Replacement motherboards are very limited and while supplies last! |

New Super Mario Bros Updates, New 360's |
Tuesday, 15 December 2009 |
Many modchips are coming out with updates for their chip to support the New Super Mario Bros Wii game. Drivekey is getting it (new chips will have this built in, updates for older ones are coming soon), WiiKey 2 update is available here, and with any luck, so will the original WiiKey and D2pro series modchip. No word yet on the other chips previously offered, but the method posted in the last update still works. New Wii's with d3-2 drives cannot boot burnt discs without a motherboard swap, see the Wii section for details on how to find mod costs and your board type.
All 360's can now be modded, and ModMonkey is offering modding for the new drives as well, see the 360 section for pricing. |

New Super Mario Bros Wii/Softmods |
Thursday, 03 December 2009 |
As many have noticed, the New Super Mario Bros Wii has protection. The original will work, but the backup will crash after a few minutes of play. Currently there is no modchip that will play this properly and fully. Fixes will hopefully be released soon.
In the meantime, you can go here for information on how to get it to work. Note that installing and running homebrew on the Wii has its risks, so be careful. The easiest option is the latest NeoGamma loader being installed, or running the GeckoOs Cheat enabling the modchip fix.
ModMonkey will also be evaluating adding softmods to the list of services offered for the Wii. Note that modchips are still the most user friendly and safe method, as softmods require maintenance to stay updated, and there is always the risk of permenant damage to the console. |
